A Door Into Something More

I remember as a child snuggling into a beanbag in front of my bedroom radiator with a good chapter book, and being lost in the pages. Transported to another world.
I believe there can be a moment like that for every child, given the opportunity, and in finding the right book for them.
Children are full of imagination and wonder, but by around age 6 or 7 years, they’re ready for something a little deeper, and longer. A story they can step into, return to, and grow alongside.
This is where The Fairy Woods begins.
Faith and Harris are just the start. What begins with a small discovery, and a quiet sense that something more might exist just beyond what we can see, slowly opens into a world filled with hidden paths, gentle lessons, and the kind of magic that doesn’t shout, but stays with you. It's not the kind of magic that needs proving. It's the kind that’s felt.
This first book is written as a chapter story for children aged 5–8, designed for that in-between stage where a child still loves to be read to but is also beginning to read for themselves. This is for the child who asks questions, wonders, and sometimes believes but sometimes isn’t quite sure yet.
And excitingly... this is only the beginning.
The Fairy Woods is a series. A world that will continue to unfold, one story at a time, gently guiding children back to something they already carry within them. Confidence, curiosity, and the quiet ability to trust their own thoughts.
In this first book, we are still at the very edge of it.
Just a glimpse into the trees. Just enough to feel that something is there… waiting.
And very soon, the door will open a little wider.
If you’d like to be part of The Fairy Woods journey as it grows, with more of its world still to be revealed before its autumn release, I share little glimpses and gentle updates through my newsletter:
