Psst... Do you want to know a S.E.C.R.E.T.?

It has been quite a while since I have written and posted a blog here. My mind has been in various other locations since March, most of which are leading to exciting news later this year.

In the meantime though, I wanted to share something new with you I have been working on.

In short, I have been working on myself. My confidence in who I am. My courage for what I want to say. My determination to show what is possible. I was recently reminded of a poem that I originally read as a child (and I may have shared with you before) called 'It Couldn't Be Done' by Edgar Guest. My favourite lines in this poem are 'There are thousands to point out to you one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you. But just buckle in with a bit of a grin, Just take off your coat and go to it; Just start to sing as you tackle the thing that 'cannot be done' and you'll do it.'

Three years ago I wrote a book that changed my life's path, although I didn't realise it at the time. I sat in the car with my children, stuck at red traffic lights, and in that moment, I shared a nugget of truth that has stayed and grown with me ever since — We create our own world with our thoughts, so make sure they are happy ones. I wrote and published that book without telling anyone what I was doing because I knew it would have been met with questions and comments that would have stopped me in my tracks. Imposter syndrome taking over and everything grinding to a halt.

My childhood was in the most lucky environment in Scotland, with the freedom and adventure that can shape a child. But like many of us, as I grew, I traded my individuality for other people's dreams and expectations. It wasn’t until I became a mother, surrounded by other parents and children, that something in me stirred again. I began to notice how many children — including my own, at times — struggled to believe in themselves. I recognised the look in their eyes. I had been that child too, moulding myself into other's beliefs. My author journey has reminded me that I don't have to mould to anything but myself. And neither should you.

This is why I have created S.E.C.R.E.T. frameworks that I can't wait to share with you over the coming months. Unknowingly as I wrote and starting building my collection of children's books, they were falling into categories that would lead me to an offering for parents and kids alike.

I found my self-belief and self-love again, and trust myself to nurture it and watch it grow. My author business is built on the reminder that we can all be anything we want to be. We build our own world and the only thing standing in our way is ourselves. We are all enough and everything all at once, and when we realise this and listen to our inner voice, we will be led to the most incredible path imaginable. The only question then is, do you trust yourself to walk down it?

When I picked up my pen three years ago, I never expected my author journey would grow to what it is now. Sharing my books in schools, libraries, and bookshops. But when I see the smiles on children's faces, and can share my messages of positivity and love, I sense the reason deep down, why I do what I do. I am a creative. I am an author. And I have a story and message to share.

Every time you open one of my books, you're taking a step on a magical journey — one where you grow kinder, braver, stronger, and even more you. That's the S.E.C.R.E.T.

Planting seeds of confidence, kindness, and magic, for the next generation and the ones guiding them.
