Having discovered this book through my daughter who had been read it in school (UK primary 5 / age 9) she was so enthused about the beauty of the story, I couldn't help but order a copy to read it for myself. It did not disappoint in any way.
A stunning story of a girl whose skin is darker than everyone else in her family or school, and she wants to be beautiful like her mother and sister, not realising that she is as beautiful as she ever needs to be. With some magic of the night sky, she is shown that she doesn't need to be anyone other than who she already is.
The story is gorgeous, if not a little emotional, and the illustrations complement it perfectly. I love this book and will recommend it as well as read it many times myself.
